Cuween Hill Tomb ver 2

by ECB1966 January 16, 2020 No Comments
Cuween Hill tomb model

I have finally got round to completing the large ( 30cm x 30cm ) print of the Cuween Hill Cairn I have also a time lapse of the two print sessions. The two prints in total took over 14 days!

Some of my models are now on display at Maeshowe visitor centre alongside the reconstruction of the dogs head from the tomb.

I plan to lend this model out for educational purposes as the tomb is difficult to access for many people and yet is a fascinating place.

I also printed a couple of architect models of people to scale.
The two pieces placed as the complete tomb. The passage way in has been shorted as anyone who has crawled on their hands an knees will confirm!
I get asked if 3D printing is easy. These were just a few of the two weeks of test prints I did before I arrived at a good set of parameters before I was happy with the quality for this model.
