Roman Horse heads

by ECB1966 February 25, 2021 No Comments

I have been asked to print life size models of some Roman Horse heads that were found at the bottom of the well they are not sure why the horses were killed: could be ritual but could be due to urgent evacuation of the fort ….in essence the cause remains a mystery.

The data came from CT scans and is the first time I have used this data. One result of using this type of data is that the inside bone structure is printed as well even though it can’t been seen. Normal 3D scans either from a scanner or photogrammetry only produces the outside surface. This work has been done so that these models can be shown to allow visitors to handle them as an educational project for the Trimontium Museum Trust
