Bronze Age Armlet

by ECB1966 November 4, 2020 No Comments

I have been asked to attempt to print this large Bronze age armlet for the National Museum of Scotland and the Trimontium Trust, the data came from Hugo Anderson-Wymark’s photogrammetry and is visible on SketchFab ( https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/massive-bronze-armlet-stanhope-scotland-bc9dae597b854ab59a4f7d56e7a66aa8 )

They only initially wanted a trial piece in white, but after that was done I thought I would try printing it in some 80% bronze filled filament. I then post processed it by rubbing and polishing the model and then aged it.

I’m rather pleased with the result. The print layers are visible if you look closely enough so a higher resolution version is in the pipeline.
