Work for the Tomb of the Eagles – The Tomb

by ECB1966 May 18, 2026 No Comments

Another job for the Tomb of the Eagles was to produce a 3D model of the inside of the Tomb itself. The Tomb had been professionally laser scanned and after quite a bit of work on the data with the help of Archaeologist Jim Bright we managed to get something that would print. The quality of the scan was impressive and the brief was to produce a display model some 60cms long. To achieve this the model had to be split into sections to fit the printer. The idea was originally to glue these sections together but it was felt that for the purpose of showing visitors the details of the tomb then it might be best left in sections. Again Jack Hopkins very skilfully painted the model which was easier as it was in sections!
